add control to a thread!

Question

Hello I using a control ( ActiveX ) for communications with nothing to add to the form except its icon.fr While trying to connect it freeze the whole application as it is added to the main thread ( Form ). I wish if I can use it with its all methods and events within a seperated thread. Any HELP!

All GUI changes in .NET have to be managed (changed/modified) from within the main thread. If you access GUI elements from worker threads you will run into unexpected behaviours. The reason is that GUI elements all need to be processed within the message loop which needs to stay on the main thread. However to do this you will need to register delegates in the main thread so all your GUI elements access happen on the main thread yet can be requested from worker threads. Hope this helps.
