How can I use AJAX in ASP.net without using AjaxToolKit Given by Microsoft. Is AJAX Concept Given by Microsoft or its Independent ?

I know that its easier to use Ajax Toolkit but its not supported everywhere. So I am searching the alternative way to use AJAX in my project.

It is an independent concept. It is easier to use ajaxtoolkit instead of building your own. AJAX : Asynchronous Javascript And Xml.
