Alter and create procedure

Hi folks Can you please explain the real difference b/w alter and create procedure in a lay man language.

If stored procedure not exists means you are creting first time then you have to write create otherwise you have to use alter means modifying th stored procedure....

Create Procedure is used to creating a new procedure after creating procedure if you wanted to change then you cant use Create Procedure. if you use create procedure for altering then you will get an error There is already an object so you have to use Alter Procedure to modify this is the main difference

Creating a new procedure is called Create. Altering already existing procedure is called Alter.

Accept input parameters and return multiple values in the form of output parameters to the calling procedure or batch. Contain programming statements that perform operations in the database including calling other procedures.
