Amount : digits to Word Convertion

Question

I need a function which accepts amount in digits as argument and returns amount in string (words). For eg. 1600 - One Thousand Six Hundred 210 - Two Hundred Ten Thanks in advance!

Sam yes it should be relatively easy to convert to C# but unfortunately the code I posted is not without its deficencies there are more big names than what I have shown and the max number of digits you can enter with this code is 69 + decimal places. There are also other little things which I did not take care of.. Sam said What is UnicodeString? Hopefully theLizard it will be reasonably easy to convert the C++ code to C#. There are some things however that I do not understand about the C++ code. What is UnicodeString? I don't see it's definition but perhaps I am just missing an #include. Yep Cosmologists will love it I suppose but to make it a bit easier for some I have created a DLL which can be called from C# code. the number that can be converted is limited to 6 digits including decimal point to be able to use it to the Centillion value you will need to pay a small fee (can't have everything for free can you!) I can do a quick article if you like Suthish but I just wondered whether there was much point with so many other converters around? The only reason I posted it here was because it did exactly what the OP wanted and I haven't tried the others which Krishna linked to. Incidentally I wrote another version for the Indian numbering system (lakhs crores) as that was coming up a lot on the forums at the time. I can dig it out if anyone's interested.

Here's a very simple 'number to text' converter which I wrote years back when there weren't so many others available :) It just deals with integers in the range plus or minus 2 billion (or so). However one thing it does have is that it can display numbers in either US or UK format.
