An unhandled win32 exception occurred in project.vshost.exe[2052]

Hi Whenever i close my application it opens two dialog box 1) visual studio error: A debugger is attached to project.vshost.exe but not configured to debug this unhandled exeception. to debug attached the curent debugger. 2)An unhandled win32 exception occurred in project.vshost.exe[2052] Any idea!!!!

Does there seem to be any actual error with the program itself when you use 'Any CPU' and do the dialog boxes still show up with a release rather than a debug build?

It was already set to 'Any CPU' ...

That may be an indication that the error is no longer occurring because you're now pulling in the 32-bit versions of any COM components. Did you have it set to 'Any CPU' previously?

In that case it could be a possible 32 bit / 64 bit problem. Under the Build tab in the project properties try changing the Platform Target CPU property to 'X86' for your XP SP3 machine.

Hi vulpes I have already done this. But i don't think this is a proper solution because i was using window7 and now i change it to xp service pack-3 and all of a sudden it started showing this type of dialog boxes.

It sounds like a possible COM exception if you're using COM objects in your application. I'd try enabling debugging of unmanaged code - see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/tdw0c6sf.aspx Notice that this option isn't supported in the Express version.
