app config file issue

Hello everyone Suppose an exe is linked (referenced) with a couple of DLLs and both the exe and the DLLs have their own app.config file. My question is when we call API to load application configuration values are there any confusion about which config to be loaded since both exe and DLL have app.config files? thanks in advance George

Thanks Ryan Let me clarify your points 1. Do you mean in .Net DLL can not have its own application config file? 2. Each time DLL reads application configuratio it is actuallty reading from the exe's application configuration? regards George

in .Net if you use the ConfigurationManager to read the app.config file it will only read the [ApplicationName].exe.config file. It doesn't know about the other config files.
