Array of Five Friuts class

Question

This is just a reminder that my question has not been answerd. I understand an answer was posted. But I believe there has not been any answer to the specific question. Please I want a complete help on this question so that next time, I will be able to write similar code in a perfect way.

I know exactly what you're talking about as I wrote most of the code! I thought at the time that it was a daft thing to do but, as I said in my previous post, those were the literal instructions - and the last time I gave someone a solution which departed from the literal instructions, the solution was marked as incorrect by their tutor. Thanks so much. For the sake of clarity, the output should look (exactly) like the following: The Fruit class contains the following unsorted fruits. grape orange apple plum pear The Fruit class contains the following sorted fruits. apple grape orange pear plum What fruit do you wish to searc for? (Supposing I input pineapple), the output will be: The fruit pineapple is not in the list. What fruit do you wish to search for? (Here again if I input grape), the output should be: The fruit grape is in the list . What Fruit do yo wish to search for? ( Here I will input exit), then the output will be: End of fruit program. My point again is that going by the help I got in putting the code together, in the output there are these two lines-- ( The fruit pineaaple is not in the list. The fruit grape is in the list ). These two statements should not have come up until after I input the fruit to search for when prompted for this. But rather they came up even before asking for the fruit to search for, and it still prompted or asks for the fruit to search for after the two statements have already came up. However, the program still runs fine except for those two statements that supposed not to appear before it asks for the fruit to search for. Please run the code and see what I am talking about. Thanks so much for your observation. Actually I just screwed up when I was making some changes! I forgot to change the {1} back to {0}. However, why are these two statements (" The fruit pineapple is not in the list " and "The fruit apple is in the list") coming up before it asks for the inputs to search whether or not in the list? Other than that, the program works fine.

Hello. Thanks again for helping me. I believe I'm missing something here because the output was a little bit different from what I was expecting. When I entered the fruit to search for, there was no result as whether it was found or not. Caleb, Read though these two links (ignore the technical stuff): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6tf1f0bc.aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/7eddebat.aspx and then have a go at completing the two remaining methods. The Sort() method can be done in one line and the Search() method in four to six lines, depending on how you like to space stuff out on the console. If you get stuck, we'll help you finish it but it's important to do some thinking yourself or you'll get no benefit from the exercise.

Frogleg, see A C# Program creating a Fruit Class that will store five fruits in an array, sort and search for a given fruit name . In that thread Caleb said " This is not a homework. ". I think we have established that it is homework but we would have helped Caleb if Caleb had proceeded in that thread. I am not sure what Caleb is asking for but I think most of us want something more to start with. The important thing is for Caleb to learn and to the extent Caleb is trying to learn, I hope we are able to help Caleb.
