ASP.NET Dynamic nested button Event

Question

1. On Button1_Click event of a button i am generating another button named b1 + its event. 2.on clicking the Button1 it is generating the new button successfully but event of new button is not firing. please help me =========CODE============ Button b1; protected void Button1_Click(object sender EventArgs e) { b1 = new Button(); b1.Text = ClickMe; b1.Click += new EventHandler(b1Click); form1.Controls.Add(b1); } protected void b1Click(object sender EventArgs e) { b1.Text =Event Fired; }

I don't think that's possible because the page's view-state (which persists control properties) will have been loaded by the time the button is clicked. Moreover dynamically created controls need to be added to the page not just initially but on each subsequent post-back. However wait and see if you get any more answers.

first of all it is a web application and i need to generate to controls on button click itself not on pageload.

If this is a Windows Forms application then I'd expect the code to work. However if it's an ASP.NET application (which it probably is as you're using protected rather than private event-handlers) then I'd only expect it to work if you move the code for the dynamic button from Button1_Click to either Page_Init or Page_Load - preferably the former. This is because of the way that controls and their events are initialized in ASP.NET.
