Hi I want to know that An ASP.NET page uses a Datagrid displays employee information.The Web application supports a large number of concurrent users who will be saving data from the grid back to the database. It is important that the Web application doesn't overwhelm the Web Server .

Hi ASP.Net applications are typical client and server architecture. When client request to the server it is handled by the IIS engine and there it needs to go lot of process. When the page request is valid it will process and sends the response back to the client. It has the inbuilt mechanism to maintain the state of the browser by referring the appropriate session id of the browser. Whenever the request goes to the server http protocal keeps all the relevant information about the client in the header. It needs to maintain the session id for the every browser which sends the request. The viewstate is another powerful mechanism to make the web request is stateful in asp.net. Because after the post back to the server it can maintain the state of the control by keeping the hidden control to serialize and sends to the server again the response comes back the client it retain the state from the encrypted hidden control. The client must have the details of the IP address browser session id viewstate etc.. needs to collectively work together to maintain the state of the web request. Hope this will help you.

Hi Deepak Disable View State and don't use session state When using a Datagridyou must decide how to keep track of the data that it stores. There are several options available depending on the application. Use or disable ViewState and use or don't use session state.In this scenario with a large number of concurrent users and a read/write requirement it is recommended to disable ViewState or not to use session State.With this method a new Dataset object is created on everypage hitpopulated on each hit and the grid is never stored in session. Thanks
