ASP.NET site not working through http://localhost/

Question

Hi We have very old ASP.NET 1.1 application. Till now it was working fine. But suddenly its stopped working through http://localhost/vdirname/ and http://127.0.0.1/vdirname/ . It works fine if I run it through IP address and machine name ie. http://ipaddress/vdirname and http://machinename/vdirname I checked IIS running or not. IIS shows running for http://ipaddress/  http://machinename/ and IIS is not running for http://localhost/  http://127.0.0.1/ I am using Windows server 2003 OS. Please help in this. Hi there Thanks... It was detected that my IP addresses was affected due to virus attack. So it was not working.... Thanks and Regards Prasad . G . Godbole

Hi it seems your host file doesn't include definition for ' localhost' . Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file with Notepad and check whether it includes >> 127.0.0.1 localhost at the end..if not just copy paste the above line and save it..and give a try .. Hope this will solve your problem ! :)
