The difference between Eval and Bind is that Eval function is used to bind data to control inside a DataBound control but it cannot update the values back to the database. On the other hand Bind function can be used to bind data to control inside a DataBound control and also it can update the values back to the database. But the above explanation did not give me clear idea and hence I wrote two examples in order to illustrate the functioning Eval and Bind functions in ASP.Net.

Hello Chandu EVal is one way binding Bind is two way If you bind a value using Eval it is like a read only. You can only view the data. Hi The ASP.Net Eval() and Bind() expressions are heavily used in asp.net GridView and DetailsView data bound controls. The difference between these two is that Eval is used for read only purpose and Bind is used for read/edit purpose. For example Eval can be used to bind the Text property of an asp.net Label control whereas Bind can be used to bind the asp.net TextBox control so that it can be edited to meet some requirement.
