Audio Encoding/Decoding/Processing w/C#

Question

Hey I'm looking for some good web resources or (preferably) book resources for audio encoding/decoding and processing using C#. Interfacing with standard Windows sound drivers editing audio recording etc. Can anyone help me out in this feild? Thanks!

I don't know. But a quick search of msdn.microsoft.com finds these topics for managed code: This namespace seems to support simple playback: Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback This appears more powerful: Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound There's also something called DirectMusic but maybe it's more just for MIDI. Then there's the old school Win32 API stuff for controlling playback and recording at a low level.
