Auto dial GSM USB modem for internet connect and disconnect from C#/VB.net

Question

Hello Everybody I want to know how to access USB modem of any company like IDEATATA through C#/VB.net programming. And how to allow program to connect internet through modem connected and also disconnect from internet. If anyone know any single hint regarding above concept implementationplease let me know. Suggestion also welcomed.

Hi Well you should have some data with the modem but the process is Open the port on the PC verify the modems connected  send it some commands. Modems these days tend to follow the Hayes Command Set originally from Hayes Microcomputer Products Inc. this has gone down to protocol V250 from the International Telecommunication Union info at www.itu.int which details the AT command set: for instance the command ATDT9080066 comes out as AT to begin the command D means dial T use touch tones 9080066 the number to be dialed. With out some specifics I'm afraid I can be of more help!

If its a USB modem it should appear in device manager as a COM port open it send the relevant commands. They should be in Data sheet for Modem or the chip data sheet failing that the manufacturers web site. Can't really be more helpful than that sorry! Glenn
