Autogenerate Username

Question

hi have to generate unique username for eg. if any client will register ths its vl take his code as his Firstname(eg nims) and give it to user tht your code is ths. if again same username vl come thn it val take nims2 and goes on... please help me to solve this.

You should use user's First Name and also generate a RandomString with a RandomNumber and combine all three to generate a strong Random User Name. Search this site for Random String and Random Number to learn how to generate a random number and a random string.

ok But maybe some user may share same first name and last name. Conflict may arise on that time. you can generate a random numbers and concatenate with firstname or both firstname last name to get the UserName. well to join the firstname and lastname just use string.concat(firstnamelastname);

well you can always use the firstname.Lastname as UserName and if you want you have 1 already just add to it a 3 letter number starting from 001 to 999

I think giving first name as user name is not a good idea. You can always ask for user email address which is always unique and give them it as username.
