Automatically generating properties

Question

Has anyone found (or done themselves) a possibility to automatically generate public properties for private variables? It's a tedious job to do by hand... Some C#-editors have this feature but I haven't found it on VS.NET.

No. I mean editing source code. When I type private int age; private string name; I would like a button (or macro or whatever) that automatically writes public int Age { get { return age; } set {age = value; } } public string Name { get { return name; } set { name = value; } }

I may be misunderstanding the problem but why not feed the constructor with data from a Random method or whateved suits the program. Sharon F
