Hi here is my solution not so complex after all and will grant the best result possible in stretching a background image: div style =width:100%;height:100%;position:absolute;z-index:1;overflow:hidden;> img border =0 src =Images/guild.jpg width =100% /> div > the tag above is my cheated stretched background image i set to hide the overflow as i wanted so but it can be left without boundaries. After this div ive started to write my page content table holding controls other table and all the needed elements of the page: table border =0 width =100% height =75% style =position:absolute;z-index:2;> this worked for me as it is the very same effect i wanted to obtain. hope this helps Thanks -- Vj
