background-color:transparent css is not working in IE

Question

Hi In my site i have used background-color:transparent !important; css it is not working in IE but in Mozilla is working fine. And I am using IE 11. Please let me know is there any thing wrong in the syntax. If that is the case please provide me correct solution for that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Saya

ok i guess this is a problem with ie not sharepointbut you can try alpha channels for cross browser styling...try this one... background:rgb(000); background: transparent\9; background:rgba(0000.0); filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr=#0000000endColorstr=#0000000); zoom: 1;

Ankur given css is not working. Actually in my sharepoint site the same code  background-color:transparent !important;  was working fine before installing sharepoint 2010 service pack 2. After installation we got this issue. And if i change  transparent  with any color it is applying that color. Only  transparent  background css is not working in IE.

ok one more try to mask opacity instead of transparent / none like this..if its not work then please post your design code ...thanx -moz-opacity: 0; opacity: 0; filter: alpha(opacity=0);

Hi! try faking a background image or setting it to a blank.gif instead of making it transparent. background : url ( blank . gif ); please mark it as answer if its helpful...
