Best Method to get data from SQL

Question

Hi all Does anyone have some solid info on what is the best/fastest method to take when querying a database and writing back to it? What I mean with this is for performance wise. If anyone has any info please tell me why you would say that. Currently I am using the SQLClient butt still I would like to know if there is no catch22 that I should know about that might increase the turnaround time for the reading and writing to the DB. When using the word best in this context it is best to define what you mean by it. Note that except for saying that you use the SQLClient you don't even specify what type of database. You don't specify whether it is an interactive or a batch environment and/or how many rows are updated or how frquently there are updates and if you need to allow other applications to access the database either read-only or for simultaneous updates. You will get much more usefull help if you first look for the relevant documentation and articles yourself and become familiar with them and then ask more specific questions.
