Best Paid Programming Job

I was always curious what is the best paid programming job? I heard Java and C++ developers gets paid more than C#.

It's probably fair to say that C++ jobs tend to be higher paid than Java and C# jobs because you're doing more difficult stuff.

Apart from that it depends what's currently in demand in your area.

Back in 1999, Cobol programmers were in high demand to fix the millennium bug in old software so it's probably not a bad idea to have a legacy language in your bag of tricks :)

Interesting trends. YES at least C# is growing. VB.NET however is going down. So PHP. I have seen a growing trend in Mobile development.

I've never thought much before to the accuracy of the Tiobe Index (http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index.html) but the overall job trends do seem to be strongly correlated with their latest figures.

At least C# is going in the right direction albeit at a slower pace than one would like.
