Biometric fingerprint scanner for Windows Phone

Does anyone know how a biometric fingerprint scanner can be integrated with a windows phone app. Can the windows phone communicate with a 3rd party hardware?

Which Windows Phone OS version your are targeting? As far as I know there is no generic framework introduced by Microsoft till Windows Phone 8.1 version.You have to check with Windows Phone 10 version.

Yes you can integrate fingerprint scanner with Windows Phone. For that you need following things 1. You need to have actual finger print scanner device to test your functionality. 2. You need to identify the vendor or company that device belongs to and device model also. 3. Ask your hardware vendor if their device support Windows Phone. 4. You have to get the sdk for finger print scanner from hardware vendor which is always specific to device or hardware. Ask your vendor if they can provide you the scanner sdk writtent in c c++ or c# and which is compatible with the Windows phone target sdk. If they support Windows Phone integration they can also provide you some sample application to test your device. When integrating with desktop application you also need to install scanner drivers provided by hardware vendor. To connect scanner with your mobile you can use OTG cable which can connect your scanner with mobile device. Please mark accepted if found helpful.
