The System.Drawing.Bitmap class can be used to represent any image defined by pixel data and amongst others contains methods for loading manipulating at the pixel level and saving such images to files. It inherits from the abstract class System.Drawing.Image which provides most of its functionality. Images can be loaded or saved in any of the following formats which are supported by the underlying GDI+ infrastructure: BMP GIF EXIF JPG PNG and TIFF.
