Build Rebuild and clean solution

Hi Sometimes we build solution and it get failed and then if we clean solution and then again Build then Build success. Why It happened? What is difference Between Build Rebuild and clean solution.

Build solution :- when we build . it Compiles code files ( DLL and Exe) which are changed. Rebuild :- Deletes all compiled files and compiles them again irrespective if the code has changed or not. Clean solution :- Deletes all compiled files ( DLL and Exe).
