button should not postback if jquery.ajax return false

i have a button i want that it should not be postback to serverside if jquery ajax featching value from database return false.if jquery ajax return true.button will postback to serverside code

before executing the ajax outside of ok button click executing then ajax success is executing

Can you post some code? I'm guessing in your code on button click Ajax call get trigger. That said on success if result return true then return true (continue) else return false (stop postback) $.ajax({ .. success: function (data) { if (data.d == true ) return true ; else return false ; } });
