By clicking on the every Button page is getting refresh

Hi I'm having buttons & other page controls if any of the control is clicked for a second page is blank & than displayed the result of button clicked. I like to know why this is happening ?? is this due to i'm using if (!ispostback) in page load ? Button controls don't have big code. I'm using 3-tier architecture in my project. Hi 1st plz describe what the problem you get means 1.your page controls are getting refreshed or you want on button click solution within page load write the code within if (!Page.IsPostBack) { } or if you want the data will updated but it will not show refresh in browser. then write your Source code within AJAX update panel in design.
