C# and .NET framework

Question

Hi Folks: I come from the so called bright side (Java and Sun) :). I recently started reading a lot about C#. I understand C# as a language. However I wanted to get more information about .NET framework and how it relates to C#. Can someone please provide me with pointers to understand .NET framework. Thanks Gunjan

Gujan Welcome to the wonderful world of .Net. I know you're probably wanting a more detailed answer than this but the .Net Framework is to C# what the JRE is to Java it is the runtime environment. One key benefit of .Net is that it supports several languages (VB.NET C# C++.Net Cobol.NET...) Take a look at some of the articles on the www.c-sharpcorner.com website that give info about the .Net Framework. -James
