Hi, I require a method to scan the file after file upload to the server. If the file is infected then delete it else save. Thanks

Hi Scott Lysle i've Used Your Code to Scan Attachment by Setting My Anti Virus file Path but its showing True Result after coming out for All Attachment even if i attach .exe file also am not Clear with this whether its working fine or not how it will find virus file its not opening antivirus window once if i host and check in my server or local IIS Server but when i Keep in debug Mode the antivirus window is opening what is the problem i can't find it......., Regards...., R.V.Rajagopalan

Thanks for the reply Scott. The file scan should work for any type of file (image,text,exe). I have figured out one way in which we can carry out virus scan using symantic scan engine. But I am not able to test the same as I am not able to create an infected file on my machine. I tried creating EICAR test file but as I create the file on my machine, the local antivirus scan removes the file. Kindly suggest on the same .

Kushal It would depend upon what you want to scan the file with. There are some API's out there that will work with .NET; you might want to see if there are any command line utilities or exposed API's that you can use by checking with the vendor of whatever you are using. If you are using Defender you can call it to scan a single file using the command line utility; if you don't disable normal handling of the file, it will do with it whatever it would normally do with an infected file.
