Hi Mukul Command line applications are heavily used for the operations that are required to run in background be it for a little time frame or for continuously for hours. Command line apps covers a major part of development in Enterprises or corporate institutions where they need various tasks to be scheduled and automated. Hope you got the point :) Thanks.

In my company generally applications having command line arguments are some tools ( to fix some issues on site). These tools could be console applications because users don't want any kind of GUI (the reason might be they don't have resources to train people to operate an application with GUI) and they just run these tool with a single line command in order to fix the issue. Sometime during silent install these type of tools are also needed.
