C# Editor Question from Newbie

Question

Hi I have taken classes with C++ and Visual Basic and am interested in learning and programming with C# to create some programs involving stock market research and trading. I bought a book that explains programming with C# with Visual Studio .NET. However I did not know the price was over a $1000 dollars for the program. Are there other good program developers besides this? I found Antechinus on the web for $50 but it has only a limited description. Thanks.

You could also consider writing your code in a text file and saving it as filename.cs. Then you can use the command line compiler available for free download on the MSDN website (search for it at msdn.microsoft.com) and use this page for instructions on how to compile: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cscomp/html/vcgrfbuildingfromcommandline.asp Hope this helps.
