C# License understandment do i have to pay fees to microsoft?

Hello.

There's something i never understood about C# license.

If i have a Open Source IDE that develops C#.NET windows forms for example, can i sell my applications, without paying any kind of fees to Microsoft?

How does C#.NET license works?

It can in fact be used for commercial purposes. See this FAQ question 7: http://www.microsoft.com/express/support/faq/

no you do not pay a licensing fee if you use an open source IDE. but if you want the piece of mind try using Microsoft's Express edition of Visual Studio. It's free. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/aa975050.aspx

Even if you use an open source IDE such as SharpDevelop you still need to download the .NET SDK (which includes the C# compiler) and there are no licence restrictions in relation to developing applications with that. Consequently you can develop commercial applications and sell them without the need to pay any royalties to Microsoft.
