C# problem

Hi I have created program and got correct answer for the operation + - / and * but my program is not giving me result for area of the circle Could you please correct my program and tell me what is wrong Thanks a lot P.S. I am beginner

The problem is that you've defined the method AreaofCircle (with a lower case 'o') but are then calling it as AreaOfCalculator (with an upper case 'O'). public static Double AreaofCircle (Double num1) { return Math.PI * num1 * num1; } double area = ConsoleApplication4.Calculator. AreaOfCircle (radius); If you change the former to AreaOfCircle then it will compile and work fine.

I'd check the capitalization as it wouldn't be telling you that AreaOfCircle doesn't exist in the Calculator class if it was spelt exactly like that. Repost the code if you like - just copy and paste it into the box - no need to upload a .rar file.

Well you'll have to use whatever name you've changed it to remembering that C# is case sensitive. 'AreaOfCircle' was just my suggestion.

Now I got error 'ConsoleApplication4.Calculator' does not contain a definition for 'AreaOfCircle' It should be simple because num1 should be radius of the circle ....and this num 1 I need to use to calculate before but..

In the version of the program which you've posted above you weren't actually calling any methods - just obtaining data from the user - so I don't know what code you've added since. But you should be asking the user for the radius and then outputting the area of the circle: Console.Write(Radius : ); string p = Console.ReadLine(); double radius = double.Parse(p); double area = ConsoleApplication4.Calculator.AreaOfCircle(radius); Console.WriteLine(The area of a circle radius {0} is {1} radius area);

Before coccrection nafter debbuging program gave me result: Operand 1: ....I can add first number Operand 2: ...second nimber Operator: ..for example + and then I got result. You'll need to change the name of the method as identifiers cannot contain spaces in C#. This should be OK: public static Double AreaOfCircle (Double num1) { return Math.PI * num1 * num1; }

You haven't posted your code but the C# code to find the area of a circle will be something like this: double area = Math.PI * radius * radius; Notice that it's more efficient to multiply the radius by itself than to use the Math.Pow method.
