A paragraph contain number of statements.The program is to find that how many times a particular word present in the paragraph...(without using any special method)

EX:consider its a pragraph :

Find how many times the word red present in this paragraph...

If you want to count words which include the letters 'red' as well as the word 'red' itself then just leave the code as Iftikar and Sanjeeb had it originally: int count = new Regex(searchItem).Matches(test).Count;

If you only want to count the occurrences of the word 'red' and exclude words which include it such as 'tired' and 'bred' then you need to add word boundaries to the regular expression: int count = new Regex( @\b + searchItem + @\b ).Matches(test).Count;
