what is the difference between public class and class in C#. Thanks in advance.

It is the access specifier which is different in both. The default access specifier in C# is internal. So if you write only class then that means the class is internal meaning it can only be accessed in the same namespace. But if you write public class that makes the class public meaning the class can be accessed by any other code in the same assembly or another assembly that references it.

Public class means it can be accessed by other class member that is initialized outside the class. A public member can be accessed from anywhere even outside the namespace. whereas simply class represent default access modifier i.e internal. The internal access specifier hides its member variables and methods from other classes and objects that is resides in other namespace. The variable or classes that are declared with internal can be access by any member within application. It is the default access specifiers for a class in C# programming.

The default access specifier of a class is internal. Internal allows only the class to access within the assembly. Public allows the class to access with other assembly too.
