C# vs ASP.NET

Question

Hey guys can you explain what the difference is with C# and ASP.NET? I thought ASP.NET was for web apps and C# desktop apps but now I see some web apps with C#? Thanks.

ASP.NET is a UI part and C# is the server-side language. ASP.NET can't be itself a server side language such as C# VB.NET etc. Both has to work together. You write your user interfaces (pages) in ASP.NET and use C# or VB.NET to do the coding part.
