In a C#.net 2008 desktop application I am working on there is a reference to: System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity. This is probably windows identity when a person signs on to a workstation. Is this the same the same as accessing the active directory? If not, can you tell me the difference between the active directory and the .net member I listed above?
