Cookies are the client side state management techniques where cookie information forth and back to the server for each client requests. It can carry only limited (4kb) textual data and limited number are cookies are allowed for an application with respect to the browser (20 cookies). Now if you have the requirements of sending a small amount of textual data to the server and the data is not critical use always cookies because it will increase your performance. Session is preferable if you want to keep other types of data and huge data. It will slowdown the performance or the response type for your website. Hi When you want information to be stored @Client side ... U use gmail how it will allow to remember you user name and password...because of cookies.. Hope this makes it clear :)
