If i am not wrong than you must want to call keypresseventhandler for each character in the textbox. then you can call this method in a for loop with passing argument as sender same as caller and keypresseventargs as new keypresseventargs(char c) by providing char c the value of currently iterating character. example : textbox id :textbox1 button id :button1 private void button1_Click(object sender EventArgs e) { if (textBox1.Text != ) { foreach (char c in textBox1.Text.ToCharArray()) textBox1_KeyPress(sender new KeyPressEventArgs(c)); } } private void textBox1_KeyPress(object sender KeyPressEventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show(hello); } now one point is this code for keypresseventhandler also run on every time when you press a key when you are in textbox1 focus. You can disable this by deleting delegate entry from the code on behond the initializecomponent. Also one solution is that you choose this method textbox1_Key_Press(object senderKeyPressEventArgs e) by typing manually not by double clicking it in event property dialog box for the textbox.

You can call the keypress events in following way for textbox. Say my textbox id is txtZip. Here inside keypress event I am validating whether the input string is digit or not. Now my question is why do you want to call keypress events in button functionthen what is the meaning of keypress.
