Calling controller's action using AJAX/Jquery

Hello Can any one help me out on how can we call a controller's GET/POST method using ajax/jquery? Also can we also show a modal using ajax? Thanks! Rohan

You are getting error because you are not defined the Login variable in Javascript. If you want to pass Login object then create a object in client side and then convert to Json.stringify. @Bikesh - I have one question. When my javascript is executed I get'Login' not defined error. Can you tell me what exactly we need to pass in the data parameter? eg. here: data :JSON.stringify(Login) I have calling a controllers Create action method. So what should I pass in the data parameter?

Hi Use like this . $.ajax({ url: '../Login/Login'  type: 'POST'  dataType: 'json'  contentType: 'application/json;charset=utf-8'  data:JSON.stringify(Login) success:function(data){ alert( Savedsuccessfully ); } }); Try it  and mark as answer if resolve.
