can we upload a question paper into database and can we retrieve it from database?

I am working on online examination project.In this project i want to add questions into database,and when students loin into my site they can write the exam.my doubt is can we upload a question paper into database,and can we create a question paper using Exeel or Doc file,and upload this Exeel or Doc file into database,can any one tell me,is it possible to store and retrieve the question paper files?
