Career Choice: Can I choose Windows Forms based Project

Question

Hello Sir Please advice me on this. Is it good to takeup the ERP project in Windows Forms application and SQL server? It is for 6 months to 1 years duration. Will I get other Web related opportunities later on comleting this project? Please advice.

Hi Chandrashekhar The category of your question should be Career Advice. I don't think working on a particular technology like win forms for 6 months or so will define your career. You should not let go this project only because it is in one particular technology (I assume you already know this technology). There are many more things which will define your career not a project of 6 months. In my career I have worked on all sort of technologies like Win Forms WPF Silver Light Delphi VB ASP.Net MVC Office 365 and many more. Some projects were short some were long. But I always got a chance to work on another new technology even if I had no experience working on them. Of course my past employers supported me but they also see your zeal for learning new things. Dont be afraid that you will be stuck with Win forms for your life time. There are many more technologies still to come you can jump to those in future if you have what it takes to learn new things.
