Question

Hi..

I want to give one suggession for this website..

In forums when users ask questions and when someone helps him/her then their answers are accepted..

But somtime it happens that more than one user replies, both are correct, both have given their own solutions and both are working.

but the questioner has to mark answer of only one user.

In another situation: one user asked question, and has got solution bt on the same forum he asked second question..

in all this situation only one user's, only one answer is accepted...

So my advice is to allow multiple answers accepting system...

I agree that there is no need to post the same answer more than once but there are times whne there are multiple answers. There are also times when there is more than one peice to complex problems. If you look in the MSDN forums there are many threads with multiple messages marked as answers most of them marked as answers by Microsoft representatives.

I disagree with the possibility of allowing more than one question in a thread. It can be very unmanageable to have multiple questions in a thread. One of the major reasons to mark a reply as an answer is to help others in the future to find solutions and it becomes very inconvenient and confusing when there is a lot of material in a thread that is irrelevant to the solution that someone is searching for. Also asking multiple questions in a thread is less useful for the person asking the questions because people that might be able to answer additional questons might not even look at subsequent questions.

hi yes you are right diya If questioner ask one question and then second and then forever... and if we can give first 1 or 2 and last one can give another person answer then we lost our first 1 or 2 answers point. :)

Just check this forum: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Forums/ShowMessages.aspx?ThreadID=84956 in this user has asked one question and then he got solution.. and one the next he has asked another question.. in these kind of situation its necessary to provide the multiple answers accepting solution and if you see the http://www.asp.net/ (the official Microsoft ASP.NET site) they have the system of multiple answer accepted facility...

Thanks guys! While we are working on second suggestion (mail all thread users) first seems litle confusing. A user is most probably going to select a single answer as accepted answer. If we already know that correct answer is already posted for a question there is NO NEED to post same answer again. What we can do is close the thread once an answer is accepted. In that case users won't be able to reply that thread again. BTW we do have an Ideas section where we can post new ideas or suggestions. Here is the URL: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Ideas/

yes diya you are right.. a problem may have more than one solution and so there must be an option for multiple check for answers. It must be implemented here and also i have one more suggestion: 'Suppose some body started a discussion/Post a question and i'm also interested in getting updates for that question.... so a checkbox should be there for following that discussion so that i can have email notification of latest answer posted on that discussion/Question.?? Is it good to have such option???
