im adding items to my Checklistbox via a openfiledialog as soon as i add the files to the checklistbox i want the items to be checked?

You say you are adding items to my Checklistbox via a openfiledialog but you don't say how you add items. I am not aware of the OpenFileDialog class doing anything with a CheckedListBox so please excuse me if I misunderstand. You can add an item and set the checkbox to checked using something like: checkedListBox1.Items.Add(Checked true);
