Client side validation

Question

hi every one ..

i have a text box in user control ..that user control is user control is placed in web page .the web page in master page.i want to write the java script function in master page for validating the text box in user control from web page please clarify my doubt this is my urgent requirement.

Hey Rakesh you can do one thing.... Create 1 Javascript Page called as CommonJavascript.js and add that function in this Javascript file. Then you can simply link this CommonJavascript.js file in any page where you want. Try it out.... PLEASE MARK THE ANSWER AS ACCEPTED IF IT HELPED YOU!!!

To check if texttbox is empty or not... You can use a  RequiredFieldValidator  Control...which is something like this... ErrorMessage=Username is Compulsary ControlToValidate=txtUsername ValidationGroup=BtnLoginClick> You can even use a RegularExpressionValidator COntrol if you want to validate some user input (eg: Email ID). You can check the Properties panel of this control and assign values to this Control.... Check out for some validation Control in the Toolbox.

Hey Rakesh What Validation do you want to do??? I mean... is it like the User should only add number value and not any other characters??? Please specify what Validation do you wanna do!!!
