compare 2 dates

Question

hi i tried to compare 2 dates where i stored both in database
both dates are in mm/dd/yyyy format as varchar in database

cmd.CommandText = "select birthday from contact where birthday- reminder <= 7";

how do i run that query ?

you can't. since they are stored at strings in the database you can't do mathematic equations on strings. you will need to write the query to return both values convert them to dates in C# then compare.
