compilation error in website. the web.config file is missing

when i add Extender in my Asp.net Application is show Element CalenderExtender is not a known Element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the website. or the web.config file is missing.

You have not added the Calender Extender tag for Extender tool in aspx page. You need to add that tag inside aspx page.
