Connect Website to Database in Windows Azure

Question

Hi I have a .Net web application which i have hosted in the Cloud. and created database aswell in the cloud. Now i want to link the that application to that database.How can i do it...if some body come across it...can anybody please tell me. Thanks Prasant

Hello Prasant SQL Azure means SQL Server in Azure it's nothing much than that. You can connect the database the same way you do while developing. You can define connection strings and access it in your code. I blogged about it a week ago. You can check method of defining connection strings and you can also find sample connection strings. Hi Prashant  If you are using SQL Azure database  then its same like how we connect normal asp.net web app to SQL server database. You will have database connection string  Using that with the help of ADO.Net or Entityframework you can connect with DB. If you are using azure storage as your database then you need to add their namespace refrences in your application then you can connect with the help of below link. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/storage-configure-connection-string/
