Where do we store connection string information?

If it's Windows Forms application (Desktop Applications) store it in App.Config file. If it is Web Application store in Web.Config file. Take note that it is not a good practice to store connection string in App.Config if it is not encrypted. Somebody may use the connection string to access the database and exploit the data. If you do store connection string in App.Config file do encryption on the connection string before storing and decrypt it when needed.
