Question

Hi Friends...

When I put connection string of sql server in .net in which we type "Integred Security=true", If we put "Integrated Security=False" or "Integreted Security=sspi" then what is te effect of these Integrated Security ? Please Explain ?

Dear, vineet if you are using integrated security true it will take default your admin information whatever you provide at the installation time but if you are taking it false then you should have to provide your username and password if you does'nt then it will give an error. Actually If we specified a username & pwd in connection string and we are using Integrated Security=SSPI (means windows authentication for SQL Server), its not gonna be used anywhere. So there is no meaning to specified username & pwd in connection string if we are using windows authentication for sql server. So by default It will run under the ASPNET Account. So to resolve this issue we need to create a user machinename\ASPNET in database if not exists and need to give a proper rights to that user. thanks.

Integrated Security=SSPI or Integrated Security=True or TrustedConnection=True all mean that the Windows or Active Directory security credentials of the current user are used to connect to SQL Server. It's not necessary to specify a user id or password in the connection string and, if you do, they'll be ignored. 'SSPI' is an abbreviation Security Support Provider Interface. Integrated Security=False or TrustedConnection=False or omit altogether all mean that integrated security is not being used so the user id and password do need to be specified in the connection string.
