A static constructor: 1. Is called automatically by the system once and once only before the first instance is created or any other static members are referenced. 2. Can't take any parameters. 3. Can't have an access modifier. An instance constructor: 1. Is called using the 'new' operator. 2. Can take parameters and can be overloaded. 3. Can (and usually does have) an access modifier.
