Convert Serializing in webservice

Serializing in webservice i need to serializing List empList = new List (); in return type JavaScriptSerializer js1 = new JavaScriptSerializer(); i got error return js1.serialize(emplist);

two approach you can use. 1:- don't serialize the list directly return the list return empList ; 2:-use Serialize attribute to apply Employee class [Serializable] class Employee { } try it..
