count of list items of dropdownlist on button click

Question

On each button click, on selection of the dropdownlist item, get the count of selected listitem and put it in a textbox. Output: Rajesh: 2(selected 2 times on button click) Vinay : 5(selected 5 times)

in the case which you have mentioned as I have said earlier create the dictionary on page load as public. On selection change add the dictionary with selected values alone . I.e on page load create the dictionary On selection change if rajesh is selected add key as Rajesh vand value as 1. On selection of vinay add similarly in the dictionary.

hi d Developer as per my knowledge multiple selection in dropdownlist is not possible for this you have to use ajax control toolkit . inside this toolkit a control named CheckBoxList cotrol solve your problem i giving you code in Zip file download and use it it may help you

As per the description you have given. On each select you have to check which value has been selected and on button click display the count of total selection. Steps to be followed. 1. Create a public hash table in your code.
